May…and finally we have made it, not that the weather would agree as it has been a very wet and windy start to the month. With the easing of lockdown, I hope that you have been able to rekindle relationships with loved ones and have been out enjoying activities with your four-legged friends. The past 18 months have been difficult for many businesses and I am grateful for all the support my customers have shown. I am continuing to see patients and following the Government, RCVS and Governing Body guidelines where applicable, all of which will be outlined when you make an appointment.

What have our team been up to this month?

This month has been a busy and varied month for the team. With new patients through the door, it has been great to meet new people and work with some fantastic cases. We have had great results with our new modality shockwave therapy system and have reported that a case with a mild suspensory strain has healed as a result of the treatment. This is just one of the injuries that shockwave can help. To find out more, please contact the team who would be more than willing to discuss this new modality.

Gorgia has been out lecturing at local Universities, helping final year students prepare for their up-and-coming exams.  Our team wishes all students taking their Veterinary Physiotherapy exams this summer the best of luck.

April…wow the year is flying by! With the easing of restrictions, I hope you are all well and are able to enjoy your time out and about with your four-legged friends. As always, thank you to all my customers, old and new who have supported me throughout this difficult time. I am continuing to see patients whilst following guidelines from the Government, RCVS, and our Governing Bodies.

NEW MODALITY!

The team has had a busy month with many new patients coming into the practice, and with our exciting new modality, we have been out and about providing treatment with this new and exciting piece of equipment. So, what is Extracorporeal Radial Shockwave Therapy? Developed initially in the early ’80s, focussed shockwave therapy was used to treat kidney stones and other ailments without the need for surgery.  With progress, research, and development this has led to the innovative and effective radial shockwave therapy as an application for treating musculoskeletal conditions. There will be more coming soon on our website about Shockwave Therapy

• Where surgery may not be an option
• Provides a less invasive treatment to surgery (where applicable)

WHAT OUR TEAM GET UP TO OUTSIDE OF THE PRACTICE!

Our team is full of horse and dog-loving individuals all of whom are dedicated to the health and wellbeing of our patients. We are so lucky to work with the wonderful animals that come into our practice. Whilst we love our jobs, we also love spending time with our own horses and dogs in which we enjoy sharing with you what we have been up to. April saw both Gorgia and Chelsie out at their first shows since lockdown. It was a perfect day for team Lisi Vet Physio with Gorgia and her own Mrs. P picking up a win in the Novice and Discovery at Prestige Equestrian, whilst Chelsie and Pep had a successful day claiming 1^st and 2^nd at Cherwell Competition centre in the BE dressage. March… finally the start of spring. As we approach the end of the National Lockdown, I want to thank all of my new and existing clients who have continued with their support through this difficult time. As it stands, we are continuing to work under strict guidelines from the Government, the RCVS, and our Governing Bodies. Once lockdown lifts, we will ensure to keep you all up to date with any changes that may be made to the rules and regulations regarding appointments.

So, what has the LVP team been up to this month?

We ended February with the announcement of our super canine bundle with prizes kindly donated from our wonderful sponsors Hannah Jade, Westland Autos, Denchworth Equestrian, and Perfect Paws Dog. Congratulations to the account owner of ‘Dillon The Springer Spaniel’ we hope you enjoy your prize. Thank you to everyone who liked, shared, and tagged, and do keep your eyes peeled for other up-and-coming prize draws.

Along with seeing all my wonderful clients, I have also been out lecturing at a local University, helping first-year students learn both their equine and canine massage techniques. Our student Veterinary Physiotherapist Chelsie has also begun learning her massage techniques and is now preparing for her up-and-coming exams, in which we wish her the best of luck.

New modality

We also have some exciting news which the team has been looking forward to share with you. As of next month, we will be offering a new modality - Radial Shockwave Therapy. This is super exciting, and the team are looking forward to using it in practice to help our patients. Shockwaves are high-energy ballistic shockwaves that are created outside the body and are transferred to a specific area within the body via the specialised handpiece.  These energy waves are able to help stimulate the healing process and so we are very excited to get using this new and innovative therapy.

We just cannot believe we are already into the 2nd month of the new year and what a whirlwind it has been! Many thanks to our many clients who have worked with us throughout the pandemic, into the New Year,  to ensure that treatments can go ahead in a Covid-Secure way to enable essential therapies to be carried for our dear animals. I am continuing to work under strict guidelines from the government the RCVS and our governing bodies. No clients are allowed in the clinic for canine appointments in person, and only 1 owner per horse at yard visit appointments

To enable people to buy our Calendar online we turned our Events page into a Shop! We still have some copies available for those who wish to have one. 

We also have a FREE DOWNLOADABLE YEAR PLANNER that you can print off to use in your home, your office, or even the yard! 

We are now busy creating the 2022 calendar and each month we will ask you to submit your landscape high res picture for entry into our calendar. We already have a January entry and the lovely Theo owned by Jane McWhirter has been selected.

February is synonymous with being the month of LOVE and we all love our animals very much. 

I am lucky enough to have a job where I sometimes get as much back as I give from the animals I treat.

Bruce pictured below was a real character and we will be sorely missed by my dear brother.

He may have crossed the Rainbow Bridge to the other side and left your life, but he will never leave your heart

Well, here we are, December 2020, and what a year it has been! I would like to start by thanking all my clients for your support this year it has been a challenging one for most of us.

Whilst we have tried to do as much virtually as possible it has been a shame; we have not been able to get together for clinics and group training sessions. However, looking forward hopefully we can make up for this next year. 

The Lisi Vet Physio Calendar, both wall, and desk versions have been a great success, enabling people to share photos of their wonderful moments they’ve captured of their pets, reminding us all of how lucky we are to have them. So again, thank you, we couldn’t do it without you! 

Next year we are looking to sponsor more events and shows and hold more onsite clinics, training days, and evening talks including an exciting talk on ‘Forensic dogs and how they are trained’. 

We hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us!
